How To Sell
Turn Your Creative Designs Into Profit—With Zero Upfront Costs!
Welcome to the Student Worker Bee LLC creator community! Want to launch your own custom clothing line, design merchandise for campus clubs, or sell unique graphic tees, hoodies, and accessories? You are in the exact right place.
Once you pay your activation fee and get your store running you can start selling on your Vendor Dashboard
With Print-on-Demand (POD), you don’t need to buy physical inventory, purchase expensive printing equipment, or worry about boxes cluttering your room. You design the products digitally for free, and they are only manufactured and shipped after a real customer buys them from your store.
This guide breaks down the simple, step-by-step process to get your custom merchandise live and making money.
🎨 Phase 1: Create Your Custom Designs (For Free!)
We use Printify.com, an industry-leading, 100% free production catalog where you can design over 1,000 different types of blank merchandise.
Step 1: Sign Up for Printify
- Head over to Printify.com and create a free account.
- If the setup asks you to link an online store (like Shopify or Etsy), simply skip or bypass that step. Your Student Worker Bee storefront runs independently!
Step 2: Choose Your Blank Canvas
- Browse the Printify Catalog. Popular student favorites include hoodies, t-shirts, sweatpants, tote bags, and insulated coffee mugs.
- Click on a product you like (for example, the Gildan 18500 Heavy Blend Hoodie).
- Choose a print provider from the list based on low cost or fast shipping times, and click Start Designing.
Step 3: Add Your Artwork and Colors
- Use the color panel on the right side of the screen to select the fabric colors you want to offer (e.g., Cream, Forest Green, Jet Black).
- Drag and drop your high-resolution custom logo, artwork, drawing, or text file directly onto the 3D item canvas.
- Scale, center, and position your design perfectly on the front, back, or sleeves. Click Save Product when it looks exactly the way you want.
Step 4: Save Your Product Mockups
- Click on your custom creation under your Printify “My Products” list.
- Printify will show you high-quality, realistic images of models wearing your custom gear.
- Right-click and save (or download) these product mockup photos to your computer or phone. These are the images you will use to visually showcase and sell your product!
🛍️ Phase 2: List the Product on Student Worker Bee
Now that your digital design is ready, let’s put it on your storefront so customers can start buying it.
Step 1: Open Your Dashboard
- Log into your account on StudentWorkerBeeLLC.com and open your frontend Vendor Dashboard.
- Click on the Products tab on your menu sidebar, then click Add New Product.
Step 2: Fill Out Your Listing Details
- Upload Your Images: Upload the realistic 3D mockup images you just saved from Printify as your main product photos.
- Title Your Merch: Give your item an attractive, catchy title (e.g., “Premium Golden Bee Retro Hoodie” or “Custom Campus Greek Life Tee”).
- Write a Description: Tell buyers about the sizing fit, fabric material, and the inspiration behind your design.
Step 3: Set Your Price (And Your Profit!)
Look at the “Base Cost” that Printify charges to physically make your item (let’s say a t-shirt costs $10 to print).
- Set your Price higher than the base cost (for example, $25).
- Write $25 in the price box and hit publish.
- The Math: When a customer buys it, you collect the full $25. After spending $10 to print it, you pocket a clean $15 profit!
📦 Phase 3: Fulfilling Orders When You Make a Sale
When a customer buys your custom design, the money goes straight into your Student Worker Bee account balance, and the order pops up on your dashboard.
Because your individual free Printify account isn’t hooked directly into our master platform network, you will spend 2 minutes manually sending the printing instructions over to Printify.
Step 1: Get the Customer’s Shipping Address
- Go to your vendor dashboard and click the Orders tab.
- Click on your new order to view the customer’s Full Name, Shipping Address, and the exact size/color they purchased.
Step 2: Submit a Manual Order to Printify
- Log back into your Printify dashboard and click the Orders tab on your left menu.
- Click the blue Create Order button in the top right-hand corner and choose Manual.
- Select your custom design from your product list and click the exact size and color your customer bought.
- Click Shipping and copy-paste the customer’s shipping address details exactly as they wrote them on your Student Worker Bee dashboard.
Step 3: Submit and Relax!
- Click Proceed to Payment.
- Use your payment card to pay Printify’s base manufacturing and shipping fee. (Remember: You aren’t losing money here! The customer already paid you the higher retail price, so your production costs are completely covered, and your profit is safely resting in your wallet).
- Click Submit Order.
You’re all done! Printify’s printing facilities will automatically grab a blank garment, print your custom artwork onto it, pack it, and mail it straight to your buyer’s front door with a tracking number.
💡 Pro-Tips for Success:
- Sell Your Own Stuff Too: Remember, you aren’t limited to just Print-on-Demand! If you make hand-crafted jewelry, bake cookies, thrift vintage clothing, or offer services, you can click Add New Product at any time to sell your physical goods directly from your dorm room.
- Check Your Artwork: Always use crisp, clear images with transparent backgrounds (.PNG or .SVG files work best) when designing on Printify so your physical prints look incredibly sharp!
